How to Chat Online

1. Don't be rude. Patience is key.

If you want a response, you have to stay in the chat room for as long as possible. Don't repeat yourself more than once in the same sitting. Don't send out "hello?", "please?", or spam repeatedly.

2. Don't ask to ask.

Saying "may I ask a question" or "can I ask a question?" is bad etiquette in online chat rooms. Just state your question.

3. Ask a Question Properly.

Simply stating "it doesn't work" isn't allowed. You need to be precise. A more detailed question will lead to a better answer.

When asking a question, you must provide the intention, what you tried doing, what you expected to happen, and what actually happened.

4. Do your Research

Make an honest attempt finding an answer before asking a technical question. Other people's time is valuable. No one is obliged to help you; we are here in our own free time.
